Imprints by Mitchell Feinberg for Muse Magazine…

Such an infuriatingly simple idea. Imagine all the times anyone in the world has ever messed about with making imprints in flour, and in all that time only Mitchell Feinberg, fashion photographer extraordinaire, has actually put it to good use. In a series shot for Muse Magazine, Feinberg drops an array of incredibly expensive things into flour/sand/cornflour/moondust with outstanding results. I don’t know if I’m alone here, but something tells me that I’m going to prefer Feinberg’s ghostly imprints to the real clothes themselves. (via)

I’m not a big bracelet person but I would wear this Alexander McQueen bracelet every day.

More bad news for designers. Saks flash sale site to launch tomorrow. (via wwd)
I’m sorry but how on earth are we meant to keep up? And is no one paying attention to the fact that doing these flash sales all the time dilutes the value and image of the brand. There’s a reason you don’t see Prada on Gilt! If shoppers constantly expect merch at a discounted outnet/gilt/ruelala price, they’ll never want to pay full price which can only mean that quality with drop further because what is the point of doing all that work and producing a garment that you can’t even cover the cost of because every chick from midtown to the midwest refuses to buy it unless it’s 60% off? So frustrating.

Thank you for this!!  This is why I also have become SO frustrated with fashion in today’s society.  Today’s youth will never understand nor appreciate the art of garment construction.  It comes at a cost, but you save in the long run!

Like shoes, you can never have too many blazers. I’ve been kicking myself for passing on a perfect seersucker one from Club Monaco last Spring, because I have yet to find one that compares.
While the one on the far left isn’t even seersucker, it is still a classic blazer motif, and the second their nautically-themed missive hit my inbox, I started planning my next trip to Club.
I should really be looking for a black tuxedo-type jacket to go with this dress I have, but that can wait since it’s not exactly leg bearing season just yet.

I enjoy rich text evernote checklists, hefeweizen, the colour purple (the actual colour, and not the movie or book), debbie downerism, change purses, and stopping to get coffee even though I'm already mad late for work.
