West Edmonton Mall is the most unsavoury part of town, by far
I really hadn’t planned on doing anything terribly exciting today. I have my second round of interviews, which I’m hoping will go well so that I no longer have to continue this charade called “actively looking for employment” and resume spending money/saving for my retirement.
I haven’t had to dodge any calls from either of my parents/explain to them why I sound like I’ve just woken up when it’s nearing noon.
I showered today, pretty impressive. I actually think I’ve showered more since becoming unemployed than ever before. Napping and showering are my two favourite passtimes right now. Of course, all this showering brings to light several things that I need to do, such as cleaning my bathroom, and buying more hair care products.
The buying more haircare products is easily the most infuriating part of the aforementioned statement, since it is impossible to find Black haircare products in my neighbourhood. Possibly because there aren’t any Black people around to demand them. Seriously, can’t remember the last time I saw a person of colour in my neighbourhood - excluding of course the lovely gentlemen who used to slowly drive by my bus stop while shouting unitelligible sweet nothings to me in passing.
Which means I have to either venture into a rather unsavoury part of town on foot, or take the bus to the mall. I’m not sure which one is worse at this point because there are usually too many babies for my liking on the buses that pass by my apartment.
Either way, I should probably change into something that isn’t sweatpant capris in the loveliest shade of prison-issue grey, lest I look slovenly or something.
