I really want to make this work
My former best friend and I are back on, sort of.
We had to talk to each other for a variety of reasons this week, the most important one being the coordination of the tax form dance that we’ve been entangled in since I’m the only one in our group still with the company.
I know more about the goings on in her life from friends of friends and acquaintances, like the new guy at work who scooped me on the details of her latest bed mate.
I’m really trying to not be such a selfish and judgemental bitch, even though she can definitely do better than some dude with shitty tattoos whose only idol is someone from Def Leppard (snicker).
It’s working thus far, no snapping at her for stupid shit, and no more making mountains out of molehills for me.
I’m as much to blame as she is for the total and utter failure of our friendship, and if she’s willing to make the effort to resuccitate it, the least I can do is meet her halfway.
