Confirmed, or bring on the snow
I’ll be going snowboarding every Monday with my friend Roger and Iris. It’s going to be a good year. Probably won’t get to do 100+ days, but it’s a start and much better than last year.I’m so jealous. It’s only October and I’m already hitting a major depression over the fact that I’m not a short drive away anymore to spend my weekends boarding.
Coupled with the fact that all the trees I see in NYC still have green leaves, makes me miss lots of things about living Upstate. Sigh.
Don’t be that jealous, we’re riding locally at a crappy ski hill that’s on the side of a freeway (not kidding). I remember the first time I went there, I asked Iris what the backside was like, and she just statred at me and clamly stated that there was “no backside, this is it”.
I find it amusing that people from Alberta (mostly the snowboarders, but I don’t know any skier out here) get all huffy if you’re riding somewhere that isn’t the Rockies. I grew up in Ontario so Tremblant and Jay Peak were my stomping grounds. There are advantages and disadvantages to any resort/snow conditions.
