"Damn, Bristol Palin gets around."

So the 17-year-old Bristol has decided to keep the baby and marry the father.
If she’s made that choice with open eyes, that’s fine and wonderful and I hope she gets the support she needs. (Pro-choice, IMHO, should mean accepting and validating the choices women make either way, not just applauding those who choose abortion.)
Yet I wonder if Bristol comprehends the freedom of choice she is blessed with in this country. I wonder if she’s thankful that she’s continuing her pregnancy out of free will, and not because the option of abortion is outlawed; a decision made unavailable to her because lawmakers believe she can’t think for herself.
Without pointing the finger or assigning blame, this certainly proves a teachable example of Sarah Palin’s pro-abstinence-education stance, no? I hope people make this point gently without insulting Bristol, who is still a very young woman. Nevertheless, she’s a living example of the outcomes of Palin’s views on sex education.
What is going through this young woman’s head? We’ll never know, I guess.
