With love and larb
Andrea Collins Smith, aka Punk Rock Mommy, died of breast cancer over the holiday weekend. Her last post. [via Lowlife]I can’t stop reading this site. Slightly morose as I prepare to travel to Baltimore this weekend to visit my aunt, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
As is our tradition, we will eat larb (a Thai meat salad — yes! a meat salad!), play Scrabble and make awful and awesome puns.
I’ve been in a bad mood all day, and I’m pretty sure it’s because I’m terrified to see her. I fear that I won’t be able to stay strong. I haven’t seen her since she started chemo.
So sad. My aunt was recently diagnosed with cancer as well. I can’t stoped reading either, and emotionally draining as it is, I’ve started reading it from the beginning. It’s going to be a long night.
