Same. I echoed the same thoughts last night to this new girl at work, and she looked at me as if I had just told her I raced unicorns for sport in my spare time.I don’t like seeing happy couples. Check that: I don’t like seeing overly happy couples. The kind that spoonfeed each other soup. Or grope each other on a park bench. Or spoonfeed soup to each other on a park bench. Goddamn soup loving bastards.
Don’t get me wrong, love is grand. I just don’t want to see it manifested like that. One of these days I’m going to walk by a happy couple, and just as the dude passes me, lean in and whisper in his ear:
“It’s never going to last.”
Then I’d wink at his girlfriend. Happy spring!
