It always bothers me when people I know are going to be teachers can’t spell basic words.

Sweap? Memmorie?

Yes. Reminds me of one of my sorority sisters who wanted to teach elementary education (thankfully, she got saddled with jr. high because her grades weren’t high enough) but couldn’t spell for shit.

My favourite misspelling of hers was “definitely” which she wrote as “definatly”. Defiantly opposed to traditional spelling it seems.

I know that the ability to spell and intelligence are mutually exclusive concepts, but it’s like wanting to be a lifeguard when you can’t swim.
