Also, I never leave voicemail unless it’s work-related ergo necessary, or it’s a dire emergency.

jgh:

I figure, if you saw I called, you will call me back and we can talk then. Voicemail makes me nervous!

Same. I am so incredibly awkward in general, but especially so in the context of leaving voicemail. Usually, it goes a little something like this:

1. Place call after checking the number approximately 6 times beforehand, but still somehow manage to get it wrong.

2. Make awkward conversation with the machine, competely forgetting the reason for my call.

3. Remember reason for call, and hurriedly state it before my time runs out, and finally imply that a returned phone call is necessary.

4. Hang up the phone.

5. Realise that I either haven’t stated my name, or have forgotten to leave a number.

6. Call back seconds later sheepishly with that information.

7. Crawl into hole and die.

I enjoy rich text evernote checklists, hefeweizen, the colour purple (the actual colour, and not the movie or book), debbie downerism, change purses, and stopping to get coffee even though I'm already mad late for work.
