The Ice Queen across the hall
Now, I’m not the friendliest person around, but if I see someone in my building and we pass by each other over the course of our respective journeys, I will acknowledge them in some way, usually a courtesy head nod or a quick “Hello” because it’s called being polite.
My neighbour, the woman whose front door is 10 feet from mine, doesn’t seem to subscribe to that philosophy and has never done this, despite the fact that we’ve lived across the hall from each other for 2 years.
I could understand if we saw each other all the time because we left at the same time, but as far as I can tell, she doesn’t have a job and we rarely see each other. There’s no need to be like that person in your office that walks by your desk/office a million times a day and says something every time, but Christ is it so hard to return my half-assed nod?
