If White people didn’t want “painting your skin black” to be considered Blackface, they shouldn’t have invented Blackface. It’s not my bad for interpreting Blackface as Blackface, it is fucking society’s bad for centuries of imperial jingoist shitassery culminating with the championing of eurocentric ideals and societal oppression of non-white, non-male, non-hetero peoples. Pick a new color for your aesthetic archetypes, in case you forgot, Black, White, Yellow, Brown, and Red are taken. That is YOUR backlash for something that YOU did, don’t tell me to “move past it”.
