How about maternity leave?” she continued. “I’m not going to have any more babies, but I sure get to pay for it on my insurance. Those are the kinds of things that we want to get rid of.
Angle notably has two children. Undoubtedly, those children’s births and subsequent years of doctors’ appointments for snotty noses and chicken pox were covered by her health insurance, in some part I’m sure by people who did not have and perhaps even chose not to have children themselves. Ditto on Angle’s annual gynecological exams, which no man with her insurance company ever had to have, or her mammograms, that women like me in their 20s don’t have to get. I guarantee you that Angle, the dirty little freeloader, has paid less for treatment for all sorts of things which have uniquely affected her or her family, because other people who do business with her insurance company help pay for them.
This is how health insurance works.
The problem with Angle’s argument is that the whole point of having health insurance is that it pools a lot of people’s resources to help reduce the burden on the individual when they are faced with illnesses and injuries great and small. The fact that not everyone has the same needs for health care is part of how health insurance companies mitigate risk and expense.
If you don’t want to pay for other people’s health problems, my advice is don’t fucking get health insurance. Pay for all of your expenses out of your own goddamned pocket. That way, not only do you not have to pay for anyone else’s problems, no one has to help pay for your selfish, ignorant ass either.

Geez, someone hasn’t understood how insurance works. If you only want to pay for exactly what you know for sure that...
