folkinz:

why do people favorite tweets? is it like when you favorite a video on xtube so you can go back to it & jerk off to it again.

For me it’s usually so that I can remember to check out a link later, especially if it’s something that isn’t particularly Instapaper-worthy. I generally unstar those ones later. Other times it’s usually because I find that particular tweet hilarious but don’t feel like retweeting it for whatever reason.

Top two such reasons being:

1. It’s really off-colour and will result in someone getting butthurt and feeling the need to school me in 140 characters of less.

2. I’ve just been on a retweeting spree and it just seems excessive.
